The focus of my project is on the Ultramar war that
started with violence in Angola against the colonials that eventually led to a “pacific”
revolution in 1974 in Portugal, and how it affected families of natives and colonials in
Angola. I want to expose my father’s story as a refugee from war in Portugal and his life as
a true Angolan as well as the devastation that came along with a revolution meant for the
liberation of both Portugal and the colonies.
